1000-lb Sisters’ Tammy Slaton responds after fans raise concern over facial bruising

1000-lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton has recently undergone a significant transformation.

The reality icon has lost over 500lbs following bariatric surgery featured on the show.

She has been proudly displaying the fruits of her labor, impressing fans with her new figure and dedication.

Tammy recently responded to critics by saying: "Haters make me famous!" despite some still finding fault with her new look.

The 39-year-old TV star frequently updates her followers on social media, and fans expressed concern after she shared a video while in the car with her fiancée, Andrea Dalton, over the weekend.

While singing along to Kenny Loggins' 'Footloose' in the clip, Tammy appeared to have visible bruises on her face.

“Are you OK?” one concerned viewer asked on the TikTok video.

They added: “What happened to your chin?”

Another commented: “Tammy, why does your face have a bruise on it? You look great with your smile now!”

Tammy has since clarified, writing: “I had teeth pulled.” Ouch.

It's all part of her dental makeover. She recently showed off her new teeth and explained that she had developed a lisp as they were just a temporary bridge.

The reality star mentioned that more dental work is planned, and the bruising seems to be related to that.

Speaking on the Creative Chaos podcast last month, Tammy confirmed: “They’re temporary still. They had to cement them in because the glue wasn’t holding. My body was rejecting it. They had to pull teeth and it’s a bridge. I’m still getting more done. It’s a process.”

Tammy also underwent a dramatic change following a skin removal procedure, after her remarkable weight loss.

This comes amid sad news for the family after Tammy and Amy's cousin, who had also appeared on the show, sadly passed away.

Katie Slaton, 37, had stage 4 cancer and Tammy and Amy's older sister, Amanda Halterman, shared a heartfelt statement: “It is with a completely crushed heart and spirit that I have to post this.

“My little cousin went to sit at the feet of Jesus yesterday. She was a force to be reckoned with and showed love that was accepting and given freely. She was the life of the party and my best friend.”

“I know both our grandparents and friends were there to welcome you home,” it continued. “Please pray for everyone who loves her. Thank you to all who have come out and supported her.”
